In order to recognise the contribution that seafarers make to the global economy and civic society, the IMO suggested Seafarer Day in 2010.

Electric cars often employ lithium-ion batteries due to their high power-to-weight ratio.

Two further standards for batteries for different passenger and goods-moving vehicles will be established by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
