Hurun India Future Unicorn Index 2022 was published by Hurun Research Institute.In the next two to four years, India will have 122 new unicorns, according to the Hurun India Future Unicorn Index 2022.

Following are the three categories into which the index has divided businesses.

Those companies created after 2000 and worth at least $1 billion that may become unicorns

The most probable gazelles to turn into unicorns during the next two years are expected to be worth between $500 million and $1 billion.

Cheetahs (start-ups that could go unicorn in the next four years)

The winner of the Gazelles category is the five-year-old LogisticsTech business Shiprocket.

Zepto, Turtlemint, Ather Energy, and Vivriti Capital are listed after Shiprocket.

The category “Cheetahs” is led by Pepperfry.

Juspay, a FinTech company established in Bengaluru, and Mswipe Technologies are its competitors.

After the US and China, India has the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world.

Bengaluru continues to remain India’s startup hub, home to 46 potential unicorns.

Delhi NCR (25) and Mumbai come next (16). According to the study, Sequoia Venture Capital is the most active investor in India’s startup ecosystem.

2.On June 30, 2022, the Department for the Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) published the Index of Eight Core Industries (ICI) for May 2022.
Axis Bank and Airtel Payments Bank have cooperated.As part of the cooperation, Airtel Payments Bank will assist Axis Bank with digitising last mile cash collection by utilising the reach of its digital-led neighbourhood banking concept.

Through this collaboration, Axis Bank field representatives may deposit the EMI money they have collected at any Airtel Payments Bank location nearby for transfer to their Axis Bank accounts.

Customers of Axis Bank will be able to deposit their EMI at one of the 5 lakh Airtel Payments Bank banking locations.

The Exchange-Traded Commodity Derivatives (ETCD) market now accepts participation from Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs), as permitted by SEBI.All non-agricultural commodity derivatives and a few specific wide agricultural commodity derivatives will be available for trading by FPIs.

They will initially be allowed only in contracts with a financial settlement.

SEBI has already given institutional investors permission to engage in the ETCD market, including Category III Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), Portfolio Management Services, and Mutual Funds.

The current Eligible Foreign Entity (EFE) approach, which required genuine exposure to Indian physical commodities, has been withdrawn by SEBI.

Now, any FPI can use the FPI method to invest in Indian commodity derivatives, whether or not they really have physical exposure to Indian commodities.

Other than individuals, family offices, and corporate entities, FPI position restrictions will be equivalent to those already in effect for mutual fund schemes.

A position limit of 20% of the client-level position limit will be allowed for FPIs affiliated with individuals, family offices, and corporations in a specific commodities derivatives contract.

The establishment of the Limited Purpose Clearing Corporation (LPCC) for the purpose of clearing and settling corporate bond repo transactions has also received permission from the SEBI Board.

A group of banks has helped Kutch Copper Ltd (KCL), a division of Adani Enterprises Ltd, raise $6,071 crore in debt.State Bank of India is in charge of the banking consortium (SBI).

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has authorised the liberalisation of the domestic crude oil market.The sale of crude oil from all exploration and production firms’ fields on the domestic market is now permitted.

The Union Cabinet has also accepted the classification of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) as an international organisation.

Paris Climate Agreement is aimed at limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
8.Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, published a report evaluating the States and UTs based on how BRAP 2020 has been implemented.
On June 29, 2022, the GST Council’s 47th meeting came to an end.At its 47th meeting, the GST Council took four Group of Ministers’ suggestions into consideration (GoMs).

These GoMs included rate rationalisation, the transport of precious stones and gold, system changes, and internet gambling, horse racing, and casinos.

The 47th GST Council’s rate recommendations will all take effect on July 18, 2022.

To address the issues brought up by the States about the formation of the GST Appellate Tribunal, the Council has resolved to create a Group of Ministers.

For products not making any interstate taxable supplies, there is no longer a requirement for registration under the CGST Act for sales made through e-commerce operators below the threshold of Rs. 40 lakh in annual sales. This may go into effect in January 2023.

The demand of several states for an extension of GST compensation was not decided at the meeting’s conclusion.
