The Center and state governments were ordered to review the curriculum in medical schools by a bench presided over by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud.

The SC argued that the government should also make sure that survivors of rape or sexual assault are not subjected to a test known as a “per vaginal” test.

The instructions must be distributed to both government and private hospitals, the court said.

According to the Supreme Court bench, this test has no scientific foundation and neither supports nor refutes claims of rape. It insults women’s dignity and re-victimizes them.

The WHO has published a list of the most dangerous fungi.The World Health Organization (WHO) has released the first-ever fungal priority pathogens list (FPPL), which includes 19 fungi that have the potential to be harmful to human health.

Based on the threat that they pose from growing antifungal resistance and/or their impact on human health, the fungal infections have been classified as critical, high, and medium priorities.

A highly drug-resistant fungus called Candida auris is on the critical priority list.

Fungi from the Candida family and others, such as the Mucorales, a group that includes black fungus, are included on the high priority list.

A person’s risk increases if they have a weak immune system, are HIV-positive, have cancer, a chronic respiratory illness, or have had TB.

The WHO FPPL list is an initiative to better the worldwide response to fungal diseases and antifungal resistance by systemically prioritising fungi.

There have been suggested three areas for action:

Sustainable Investing in innovation, research, and development
Public health measures WHO created its first list of bacterial priority infections in 2017.
