The longest-flying migratory bird in the entire planet is the Amur falcon.

The Tamenglong district administration hosted a celebration of the Amur Falcon Festival.

It will start taking place in the first or second week of November in 2015, with the goal of enhancing the bond between people and nature.

According to Schedule IV of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, amur falcons are protected.

Amur falcons travel to South Africa for the winter before arriving in India around October in Nagaland and Manipur.

The radio-tagging programme for Amur falcons was launched in Manipur in 2018 as part of a plan to protect wildlife.

An international pact for the preservation of migratory raptors has India as a signatory.
2.Bali, Indonesia, hosts the start of the 17th G20 Summit.PM Modi is present at the conference together with other prominent world leaders.

The G20 Leaders will debate a variety of topics at the summit under the heading “Recover Together, Recover Stronger.”

The summit’s main topics will be climate change, digital transformation, sustainable energy transition, and global economic recovery.

The working sessions will also take place in accordance with the G20 Summit schedule.

The President of Indonesia will transfer the G20 Presidency to India during the Summit’s closing session.

On December 1st, India will formally take over as G20 President.

At the G20 conference, the prime minister will also have individual discussions with foreign leaders.
3.The Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry has announced the National Sports Awards for 2022.On November 30, 2022, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Sports Awards 2022 winners with their prizes.

Sharath Kamal Achanta, a table tennis player, has been chosen for the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.

25 athletes will get Arjuna Awards.

Four athletes will receive the Dhyan Chand Award for Lifetime Achievement in Sports and Games.

These athletes include Nir Bahadur Gurung, Ashwini Akkunji C, Dharamvir Singh, and B.C. Suresh.

Guru Nanak Dev University of Amritsar will receive the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy in 2022.
4.The 2024 Under-19 Men’s T-20 World Cup will take place in Sri Lanka.The organising countries for the 2026 edition are Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Thailand and Malaysia will host the T20 World Cup for Under-19 women in 2025.

The Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup will be held in jointly in 2027 in Bangladesh and Nepal.

The inaugural ICC Women’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup will take place in T20 format in 2023.

South Africa is slated to host the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023.
5.From November 19 to December 6 in Haryana, Kurukshetra will host the International Gita Mahotsav.President Draupadi Murmu will take part in the Gita Yagya at the Brahma Sarovar while attending this big festival of the Holy Gita.

The Gita and the Mahabharata are the inspiration for 21 unique stone sculptures made by sculptors from across the country.

At Kurukshetra University, the president will also start a three-day international seminar on the Gita.

Nepal will be the festival’s partner nation in 2022, and Madhya Pradesh will be the partner state.

There will also be a Saras and Craft Mela from November 19 to December 6.

The Haryana CM also announced that six museums will be built at Kurukshetra for roughly Rs 250 crore, where digital renditions of scenes from the Mahabharata and the Gita will be on display.
6.Gaurav Dwivedi, a senior IAS officer, was appointed as Prasar Bharati’s new CEO.Following the Selection Committee’s recommendation, the President appointed Gaurav Dwivedi for a five-year term.

Mr. Dwivedi was previously the CEO of MyGovIndia, the government’s portal for citizen participation.

Shashi Shekhar Vempati was Prasar Bharati’s CEO from 2017 until 2022.

After Mr. Vempati’s five-year term was up in June 2022, Doordarshan Director General Mayank Agarwal was given the additional responsibility of CEO Prasar Bharati.

November 1997 saw the formation of Prasar Bharati. Its main office is in New Delhi.
7.The third iteration of the all-Indian Sea Vigil-22 coastal defence exercise began on November 15, 2022.The whole 7,516-kilometer Indian coastline and Exclusive Economic Zone will be subject to it.

All of the Coastal States and Union Territories will be involved.
The idea for this exercise was developed in 2018 to support numerous measures put in place to enhance marine security following the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.

The Indian Navy is conducting the two-day drill in cooperation with the Coast Guard and other ministries.

In addition to the Ministry of Defence, the Ministries of Home Affairs, Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Petroleum and Natural Gas, etc. are supporting the conduct of Sea Vigil-22.

The drill prepares for the significant Theatre Level Readiness Operational Exercise (TROPEX). Every two years, the Indian Navy holds TROPEX.
8.The first recipients of funds from the G7’s “Global Shield” project will include Pakistan and Bangladesh.The G7 “Global Shield” project attempts to finance nations experiencing climate calamities.

Germany, the G7’s president, is in charge of coordinating the Global Shield.

It intends to give climate-vulnerable nations quick access to insurance and cash for disaster relief in the event of a flood or drought.

The 58 economies that are considered to be climate-vulnerable as part of the “V20” group are helping to build it.

According to the list of initial beneficiaries of Global Shield kits, countries like Bangladesh, Costa Rica, Fiji, Ghana, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Senegal were among them.

The “Global Shield” strategy, introduced during the COP27 climate summit, intends to quickly provide aid to underdeveloped countries following disasters.

It is supported by funds totaling 170 million euros ($175.17 million) from Germany and another 40 million euros from donors such as Denmark and Ireland.
9.Shlok Mukherjee is the 2022 Doodle for Google competition winner.The winner of the 2022 Doodle for Google contest is Shlok Mukherjee of Kolkata.

He received the honour for his motivational Doodle, “India on the Center Stage.”

On November 14th, 2022, Shlok’s Doodle was exhibited on Google.co.in for a full day.

The competition’s topic was “My India will in the next 25 years.”
The jury included actors Neena Gupta, Alika Bhat, Kuriakose Vaisian, and the Google Doodle team.

The panel judged submissions according to their artistic quality, strategy, and affinity with the theme.

The Doodle for Google competition aims to foster young people’s imagination and creativity.

10.The 53rd International Film Festival of India will take place in Goa from November 20 to November 28 of 2022.This year, there will be about 280 films from 79 different nations exhibited.

The “Indian Panorama” will feature 20 short films and 25 features from India.

Spanish director Carlos Saura will receive the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award.

There will be movie screenings and caravans set up all throughout Goa.

The Goa government and the Directorate of Film Festivals, which is part of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will jointly organise it.

12.The 55th National Library Week began on November 14 in Vijayawada.Beginning on November 14, Andhra Pradesh will commemorate the 55th National Library Week.

13.In September, industrial production in India rose 3.1%.The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 4.4% in September 2021.

In the preceding month, there was a contraction of 0.8%. (August).

The National Statistical Office’s IIP data show that the manufacturing sector’s production increased by 1.8% in September 2022.

In September 2022, power generation jumped 11.6% and mining output grew 4.6%.

Better results in the mining and energy industries were the main drivers of the increase in September’s industrial growth to 3.1%.
14.Natasa Pirc Musar was chosen as Slovenia’s first female president.Natasa Pirc Musar defeated her conservative opponent in the second round of voting on November 13 to become Slovenia’s first female president.

The vote for Ms. Pirc Musar was close to 54%. She defeated Mr. Logar, who received slightly over 46% of the vote.

She will take over as Slovenia’s president in place of Borut Pahor.
